A neighbor is being credited with rescuing a 3-year-old girl from a Butler City rooftop.
Victor Gould told our news partners at WPXI-TV says he looked out his window on South Street Sunday morning and saw the toddler sitting in snow atop the porch roof with her feet dangling about 20 feet above the ground. She wasn’t wearing shoes, socks or a diaper.
Gould says he screamed for anyone inside the girl’s home to help but no one came. He jumped up on the railing and grabbed her hand, helping her safely to the ground.
Police say it’s not clear how long the toddler was on the roof. The girl’s dad- who was supposed to be watching her- was apparently sleeping.
This was allegedly not the first incident involving the young girl.
According to WPXI-TV, the toddler was found by neighbors three weeks ago walking alone, wearing only a diaper, about a block-and-a-half from the home.
After Sunday’s incident, the child has been removed from the home and is in the custody of a grandparent.
