The Pittsburgh Pirates lost to the Washington Nationals 3-2 last night to open a three-city, nine-game road trip. The loss snapped the Bucs five-game winning streak. Corey Dickerson hit a home run for the Pirates. Jameson Taillon took the loss. He allowed three earned runs on seven hits over six innings, walking two and striking out five.
The Bucs and Nationals play again tonight at 7:05pm. The Pirates fell a 1/2-game behind the Chicago Cubs, who won their fifth game in a row last night.
The Pirates have announced Nick Kingham will get a second major league start, this Sunday against the Milwaukee Brewers. Steven Brault will return to the bullpen.
