April is National Donate Life Month and the state of Pennsylvania is encouraging everyone to become organ donors.
“Organ Donation Month is the month of April where we encourage all Pennsylvanians to become organ donors so that they may save another life,” Dr. Karen Murphy, Pennsylvania Secretary of Health, said.
The easiest way to help is to contact PennDOT and add the ‘organ donor designation’ to an existing driver’s license.
More than 8,000 Pennsylvanians are currently waiting for organ transplants.
“One individual donating their organs can save up to eight lives and touch 50 others,” Murphy said.
