A former Cranberry Township man facing homicide charges in the death of his ex-girlfriend has been extradited back to western Pennsylvania.
Matthew Darby, 21, was extradited to Pittsburgh from South Carolina, where he was arrested after attempting to break into a home. Police say he fled to the state after killing University of Pittsburgh student Alina Sheykhet in her off-campus apartment. The homicide happened in early October.
Darby is a Seneca Valley High School graduate and former basketball standout. The last known address for Darby is in Greensburg.
