After another shooting this past Wednesday inside a movie theater, some have turned their attention to theater security procedures, or lack thereof.
The National Association of Theater Owners released a statement following this past week’s shooting near Nashville saying in part that the safety of guests and employees is its highest priority.
The manager at the South Pike Cinemas 10 in Sarver told our newsroom that she could not comment on their current security procedures. Management at the Regal Cinemas in Butler Township could not be reached for comment.
Before the gunman in Tennessee, two people were killed and nine injured by a movie theater gunman in Louisiana last month. And three years ago in Colorado, 12 people were killed in a theater.
