Although news on the pandemic has been encouraging as of late, Butler County reached another grim milestone this week.
More than 700 people in the county have now died due to COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic according to the Department of Health.
However, the number of new cases was dramatically lower again this week in the county. Only 116 cases were reported since last Friday.
At the peak in mid-January there were nearly 3,000 cases in a week.
Butler Memorial Hospital was treating eight patients for the coronavirus as of Monday this week. We’ll hear another update from the hospital next week.
