Runners from all across the world and from the region will converge in downtown Pittsburgh Sunday for the city’s annual marathon.
More than 40,000 runners will be in the field for the 32nd edition of the Pittsburgh Marathon. Road closures will be in effect beginning at noon Friday.
Events begin Saturday around 8 a.m. but the big race kicks off Sunday morning just after 7 a.m.
The marathon record of 02:10:24 was set in 1995.
