Nascar:
Martin Truex Jr. held off Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch down the stretch to win the season’s first road race at Sonama for the second consecutive year.
Truex led 59 laps, most among the field, and beat Busch by 1.861 seconds for his 23rd career win and third at Sonoma, which breaks a tie with Busch for most among active drivers at the California road course.
WOMEN’S PGA CHAMPIONSHIP:
Australian golfer Hannah Green won the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship yesterday (June 23rd) at Hazeltine National Golf Course in Minnesota for her first major. The 22-year-old finished at 9-under 279 for a one-shot victory over defending champion Sung Hyun Park of South Korea.
