State Police have released more information on the school bus accident from yesterday afternoon in Summit Township that saw several people injured, including children.
The accident happened just after 3 p.m. after a vehicle driven by 89-year-old Eugene Wranich of Kittanning was traveling southbound lane on Chicora road approaching route 422 intersection attempted to take a left turn.
The School bus was driven by 58-year-old Steven Hovis of East Brady, he was approaching the route 422 intersection in the northbound lane. A third vehicle driven by 28-year-old Zachary Fedokovitz was behind the bus.
Wranich attempted to take a left turn from Chicora road on to route 422 on a red light and collided with the school bus. Wranich vehicle then hit Fedokoivitz after he was unable to stop.
There were 42 students on the bus at the time of the accident, two were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for apparent minor injuries, seven were evaluated on scene.
Wranich was also evaluated on scene for a minor injury but not taken to the hospital, she was also cited for vehicle code violations.
