Police have provided more details surrounding Tuesday night’s shooting in the parking lot at the Clearview Mall.
According to charging documents, 24-year-old Carlos Gonzalez Carril was in the Rural King when there was a fight between him and 21-year-old Ryan Ehrman and 19-year-old Damian Blystone—both of Butler.
Carril then got into his vehicle with another woman; Blystone and Ehrman also got into their SUV with a teenager who was driving.
Soon after, Carril’s passenger called police and said they had just had their vehicle shot at. Police say dispatchers soon heard Carril fire multiple gunshots in the background during the call.
Troopers arrived on the scene and found the Ehrman, Blystone, and the juvenile had gone into the Rural King after being shot. All three had to be flown to a Pittsburgh hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds.
Police eventually tracked down Carril’s vehicle in the Sheetz parking lot on North Main Street Extension, across from the mall.
However, police say they didn’t see any evidence that Carril’s car had been shot. Meanwhile, the SUV that was still at the mall did in fact have numerous bullet holes around the windows.
Blystone told police that he had recognized Carril from their neighborhood, but didn’t know his full name. Ehrman meanwhile told police that while exiting the Rural King, Carril showed his gun to both of them, and Ehrman showed his gun in response.
Carril was denied bond and awaits a preliminary hearing in February. He faces three counts of attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault and simple assault.
