Anxiety disorders and Tourette syndrome could be added to the list of approved conditions for using medical marijuana.
The recommendations were made recently by the state’s medical marijuana advisory board, but require approval by state Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine before they could go into effect, according to officials.
Regulators added four new conditions to the original list of 17 last year. The current list has 21 conditions ranging from autism to severe pain to post-traumatic stress disorder.
The medical marijuana advisory board also voted in favor of making edible forms of the drug available to patients. That move would require action from the legislature before taking effect.
