The Butler Indoor Track and Field teams had another school record setting weekend at Edinboro University. The girls 1600-meter relay team of Shana Hoy, Liz Simms, Maddie Tonini and Alexis Leech shattered the Butler school record with a first-place time of 4:05.49. The old record of 4:08.21 had been set last year. Hoy and Leech were also part of the previous record. Maggie Welty broke the school record in the mile run with a time of 5:25.03, breaking the previous mark set by Brianne Stellfox in 1997. (5:25.24)
Liz Simms won the 800-meter run and the 800-meter relay team of Savannah Miller, Maegen Emanuel, Maddie Glew and Shana Hoy took first place.
The teams have two weekends remaining in their season, including the state indoor championships at Penn State February 25th.
