Area residents 16 and older are invited out to Moraine State Park this weekend to enjoy an overnight hiking trip.
A Glacier Ridge Trail Overnight Hiking Trip will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bicycle Rental Parking Lot. A four and a half mile hike to Davis Hollow Cabin will follow. Participants will then make camp and use Dutch ovens to cook a provided dinner.
Sunday morning will include cooking a provided breakfast followed by a three and a half mile hike to the 528 Boat Launch where a shuttle will transport participants back to their vehicles.
This is considered a difficult hike so those planning to attend should be in good physical shape. Participants are advised to bring water, snacks, a sleeping bag, and pillow. The cost is $30 to cover meals and preregistration is required through the DCNR Calendar of Events website.
