Visitors to the North Shore of Moraine State Park will be able to get where they want to go much more easily in a couple years.
Officials from PennDOT were on hand Tuesday at an open house to explain their estimated $5 million project to add a ramp off Route 422 onto West Park Road and build a new access road from Route 422 to North Shore Drive.
The project is expected to be put out to bid in January with construction started in March of next year and completion estimated for late 2017 or early 2018.
A four-mile detour will be in place for about three weeks sometime next summer to allow for the ramp work. The new access road will include a new bridge over Muddy Creek. The North Country Trail is being moved to accommodate the project.
