Anyone interested in taking in an upcoming meteor shower are invited out to a unique viewing experience later this week.
On Friday (August 12th), the Park Naturalist at Moraine State Park and volunteers of the Moraine Preservation Fund will welcome guests on the Preston’s Pearl pontoon boat for an evening excursion.
During the session, various constellations will be discussed and attendees will be able to view the Perseid Meteor shower on top of the observation deck.
Friday’s session is expected to run from 8:30pm to 10:30pm from the McDanel’s Launch on the North Shore. The event is for those ages 12 and older, and the cost is $17 per person. Pre-registration is also required, and can be made by calling the Owlet Gift Shop at 724-368-9185.
