In District-9 softball: Moniteau shut-out Keystone 10-0 to finish their regular season 19-1 overall. The Warrior’s Kennedy DeMatteis fell just short of her fifth straight no-hitter giving up one hit while striking out eight giving her 183 regular-season strikeouts and a regular-season ERA of 0.91. She also had two singles and three RBIs and reached the 40- RBI plateau with 40.
Karns City lost to Cranberry 10-7.
District-9 baseball Tuesday: Moniteau defeated Keystone 10-4.
In the WPIAL Baseball playoffs Tuesday: Sewickley Academy defeated CW North Catholic 4-3.
In Boys Volleyball: Seneca Valley defeated Gateway 3-0 in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs. The Raiders will host Norwin Thursday in the quarterfinals.
Butler lost to Peters Township 3-1.
The WPIAL has announced the locations for the WPIAL Baseball playoffs today.
Knoch will face Montour in the Triple-A quarterfinals at North Allegheny high school. First pitch is 4pm.
Mars will match up with Hopewell at the Burkett Complex in Robinson at 4;30pm.
In Quad-A: Pine-Richland will meet Canon-McMillan in the quarterfinals tonight at 7pm at the Burkett Complex.
In Softball:
Knoch will open the WPIAL Triple-A first round against Montour at Seneca Valley high school today at 2pm.
Mars and Beaver will play at 3pm at North Allegheny high school.
Freeport and McGuffey meet in the Double-A first round at Latrobe high school beginning at 7pm.
In Girls Lacrosse: Mars will host Hempfield tonight at 6pm in the WPIAL Division-2 quarterfinals. The Mars boys will host Latrobe tonight at 7:30pm
