Pennsylvania will have access to millions of dollars in order to reclaim abandoned mines across the state.
Governor Tom Wolf says over $26 million will be available on an annual basis via the new federal infrastructure law.
Wolf says the money will be used to close dangerous mine shafts and reclaim unstable slopes. There will also be funds set aside to ensure high water quality in those areas with abandoned mines.
The grant program is available though 2034.
