Hundreds of antique Model Ts- and their owners- will make a trek into downtown Butler on Friday.
Simon Neubert- president of the Western PA Model T Ford Club- says Friday’s stop is part of the Model T International Annual Tour, which has been going on all week based in Cranberry Township.
The antique vehicle owners will stop at Butler County Ford on Butler’s Main Street, a dealership that has been in existence for 100 years.
“They used to sell Model Ts…they’re an original dealer… and they are still selling cars from the same building today,” Neubert said. “That’s definitely a rarity.”
The Model Ts are expected to begin arriving in Butler around noon. The first stop will be Butler Memorial Park for lunch, before making their way to Butler County Ford where festivities will continue until 4 p.m.

Butler County Ford is excited to welcome the Model T convention to their historic downtown building on Friday.
Denny Glasgow and his family own the dealership. He says he doesn’t believe there are any other Ford dealerships in the country that used to sell Model Ts and are still in operation today- other than Butler County Ford.
“There’s a lot of history here,” Glasgow said in an interview. “I don’t know that there are any of these buildings left.”
No roads will be closed for this event on Friday, but motorists should expect some traffic delays on North Main Street through early evening.
The Model Ts will be parked on Main Street- from the Butler County Courthouse to the bridge- and then on Wayne Street.
The dealership- known then as McIntyre Motor Company- opened in 1918 in the midst of World War I. The company is still selling cars 100 years later from their multi-level building at the corner of Main and Wayne streets in downtown Butler.
