The Major League Baseball season resumes today with one game. Houston will host the Texas Rangers. The Pittsburgh Pirates visit the Chicago Cubs to open a three-game series tomorrow afternoon. The Bucs and Cubs play at 2:20pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday before moving on to St. Louis.
Pitcher Jim Bouton has passed away at the age of 80. Bouton spent 10 seasons in the major league’s and was once a 20-game winner. He also had written a popular book titled “Ball Four”. Bouton pitched for the New York Yankees, Seattle Pilots, Houston Astros and Atlanta Braves before retiring in 1978. He died from a brain disease linked to dementia.
