Danny Jansen made MLB history Monday when he became the first player to appear on both sides of a baseball box score. Jansen started a game for Toronto June 26th, which was delayed by rain in the second inning. Jansen had fouled the only pitch he saw in the June 26th game before the rain began. He was traded to Boston a month later. Jansen took over Monday’s game as the Red Sox catcher, and Daulton Varsho entered the game for the Blue Jays as a pinch-hitter to take over for Jansen. Varsho would strike out to complete that at-bat, before Jansen lined out for Boston in the bottom of the inning.
