A development planned for Middlesex Township at the intersection of Routes 8 and 228 is moving forward.
The Middlesex Township Board of Supervisors approved preliminary land development plans Wednesday night for the nearly 89 acres, which border Overbrook Road. The supervisors also signed off on conditional use approval for the property as commercial recreation, restaurant, large land development, single family, and town home.
Representatives from NWPA Property Development LP attended the meeting and engineering firm EcoLand Solutions presented details of the planned complex.
The development will include 108 single family homes, 40 town homes, and over 108,000 square feet of commercial space. No tenants are in place at this time but could include offices, restaurants, convenience stores, banks, and other retail like supermarkets.
The development will have four access points including three off Route 8 with a new traffic light and one off Overbrook Road. A large amount of landscaping is planned including 16 acres of open space, ball fields, a pond with a fountain, a gazebo and several benches. A contractor has not yet been chosen for this project.
Since only preliminary land development approval has been given, NWPA will need to return for township approval of other parts of the plan.
The project is expected to be completed in six phases with the first phase of single family homes likely to begin construction this fall.
