A man was in court Monday awaiting a pretrial hearing on rape charges, when police then arrested him for another, unrelated rape charge.
31-year-old Patrick Kearney of Delaware Township, Mercer County is in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bail stemming from allegations that he raped a woman in Slippery Rock Township nearly five years ago.
Police say the incident happened back in the summer of 2014, when Kearney went on a first date with the victim. After the date, Kearney allegedly took the victim inside his home on Kiester Road in Slippery Rock and raped her.
The allegations are similar to those Kearney is facing in Mercer County, where he is being charged of raping a woman last year at his Mercer County home.
