The open enrollment period for Medicare begins Tuesday.
Those who are eligible can make changes to their current Medicare coverage as well as join, switch or drop Medicare Advantage or Prescription Drug Coverage plans.
Changes to Medicare in 2025 include a new $2,000 out of pocket cap for prescription drugs, the elimination of the “donut hole” coverage gap for prescription drugs, and an optional payment plan to spread out drug costs.
Open enrollment ends December 7th. The state offers a free health insurance counseling program through the Area Agency on Aging. Contact the Butler office of the Area Agency on Aging at Sunnyview Circle for more information
