There will not be a medical marijuana grow and process facility in Butler County but there still could be a dispensary here.
Kent Hartley of Butler is part owner of Cresco Yeltrah, who was chosen by the state to receive a grower and processor permit for a facility in Jefferson County. Although they can only hold one grower and processor permit in Pennsylvania, Cresco Yeltrah could be chosen as a dispenser of medical marijuana in Butler County.
The company already started work on a site at the Pullman Center Business Park in Butler City where they wanted to bring medical marijuana grow facility. Even though that won’t be happening, Hartley says work at that site will continue.
The state health department is expected to announce the recipients of the dispensary permits by the end of this month.
