Meals on Wheels in the city of Butler will be making one more delivery next week before suspending operations temporarily.
Mary Pataky, coordinator of the Meals on Wheels for the city of Butler, told our newsroom that Monday (3/23/20) will be the last delivery to current clients for the time being. The delivery will have enough food for two weeks.
Pataky stressed that this is a temporary move and once they reopen, they will again be delivering meals to clients. She says the Meals on Wheels in the city of Butler has made this decision in an effort to keep their volunteers and staff safe.
Pataky says volunteers are leaving the food at the doorstep of clients and having no physical contact. Phone calls are also being made to assure the food has been delivered.
A letter from Pataky will be included with the delivery on Monday. Butler City Meals on Wheels serves 90 within the city.
Listen to our interview with Mary Pataky.
