The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Baltimore Orioles 10-1 last night at PNC Park. Andrew McCutchen went 4-for-4 and drove in a career-high eight runs. McCutchen hit two home runs, including his first career grand slam in the second inning. He was pulled from the game in the seventh inning by manager Clint Hurdle, to honor a special night. McCutchen now has 28 home runs this season, and leads the team with 87 RBI’s.
Starting pitcher Trevor Williams allowed three hits and a run over six innings. He walked one and struck out six. The only run he allowed was a solo home run in the sixth inning. Steven Brault pitched three scoreless innings to earn his first major league save.
The Bucs complete their home schedule tonight at PNC Park against the Orioles. First pitch will be 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am is 6:40pm. Chad Kuhl will start for the Bucs. The Pirates play their final four games off the season in Washington Thursday through Sunday.
