Kevin Shields from the Club at Nevillewood won the Tri-State PGA Meadville Classic Monday with a -5 under par 67 to defeate Butler Country Club’s Rob McClellan by two strokes. McClellan shot a -3 under 69.
Darin Kowalski of Bethel Park is the leader after the opening two rounds of the 116th annual West Penn Amateur in Bedford. Kowalski is at -10 under par two strokes ahead of Luke Miller of Venetia. Sean Knapp from Oakmont is four strokes back. Brett Rinker of Slippery Rock, and Jimmy Ellis from Knoch high school are tied at -2 under. The final round is today at the Old Course at Bedford Springs Resort.
