The mayor of the city of Butler delivered a ‘State of the City’ address during a Butler City Council meeting on Thursday night.
“2018 was a great building year for Butler City Council,” Mayor Ben Smith said yesterday.
Smith went on to discuss budgets passed, contracts agreed to with union bargaining groups, repair work to the city building, cooperation with Butler Township, and the hiring of a new fire and police chief.
Smith said he looks forward to progress in areas such as a ladder truck for the city fire department, as well as funding to make infrastructure improvements.
“I’m confident that with continued effort, we will accomplish much more,” Smith said.
The mayor will join Dave Malarkey on the “It’s Your Turn” talk show Friday afternoon beginning at 12:30 p.m. on WISR 680 AM or online at wisr680.com.
