Another 1.87 million Americans filed for unemployment last week, according to the latest report announced this morning.
Butler County hasn’t been spared from the jobs loss, as the latest figures released by the state show that the unemployment rate in the county is now 15.7 percent.
That works out to just over 15,000 county residents who are now unemployed.
Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, Butler County was on a 10-year trend of declining unemployment.
Across the state, the unemployment rate is 15.1 percent.
