An annual event at a local school district today will again raise funds for breast cancer research.
Students at the Mars Area School District will participate in the Hats For Heroes fundraiser on Friday.
Students in all grades will make a donation in exchange for the opportunity to wear a hat in school. Last year, the schools raised a combined total of over $12,000.
Proceeds benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization.
