Students and staff at a local school district are remembering the victims of 9/11 with a special activity later this week.
Beginning around 3 p.m. Tuesday, members of the Pine-Richland/Mars Area U.S. Air Force JROTC will lead an effort to plant 2,977 American flags along Route 228 in front of Mars Area High School.
This is done annually as part of the “9/11: Never Forget Project” and the number represents one for each person who died in the September 11th attacks.
The flags will be on display through Wednesday, September 11th.
