The Mars School Board has agreed to pay a company to do a study of the demographics of the district.
The board will contract with Stewman Demographics, LLC for an amount between $15,000 and $16,000. This company has previously provided demographic studies for districts such as Franklin Regional, Shaler, North Allegheny and Pine Richland.
The study will provide a long-term view of growth in the community so that the district is able to make more informed decisions about planning for the future. The district’s previous demographic study was performed in 2007.
It is expected to take a period of weeks to months to complete the survey with results expected sometime around June or July.
