The Mars Area School District is making a couple administrative changes that will take effect for the upcoming school year.
First, the school board eliminated their two assistant superintendent positions (one is K-6 and the other 7-12). Current Assistant Superintendent of kindergarten through sixth grade, Dr. Elizabeth McMahon was appointed to the new position of Assistant Superintendent K-12. McMahon has been with the district since 2005.
The School Board also created a new position of Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Innovative Practices. Kara Eckert was appointed to that position. Eckert previously worked in the Shaler and Woodland Hills School Districts as well as with Lead To Learn LLC in Pittsburgh.
