The Mars Area School Board has opened their varsity head football coaching position along with all other high school and middle school football coaching positions.
Current Mars Athletic Director Scott Heinauer has coached the district’s football team for the past 30 years. Heinauer will remain as Athletic Director but interested candidates are invited to apply for the varsity head football coaching position.
A large number of adults and student athletes attended the Mars School Board meeting Tuesday to thank the board and administrators for taking their concerns seriously. School officials declined to specify the exact nature of those concerns.
According to Superintendent Dr. Mark Gross, the exact procedure of the impartial search process is still under discussion and yet to be determined at this time.
