A Mars native and longtime firefighter in Pittsburgh will be honored with a procession in southern Butler County Wednesday.
Adams Area Fire District life member and Pittsburgh Fire Captain, 49-year-old James “Jimmy” Ellis Jr., passed away last week due to an illness.
A funeral mass is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. in Pittsburgh followed by a procession. Firefighters and companies showing support are expected to line up equipment on both sides of Route 228 in Mars from the intersection with CVS and Get-Go to the entrance of the Adams Area Fire District.
The procession will then continue to the Mars Cemetery followed by a wake luncheon at the Adams Area Fire District Headquarters.
