The Mars Area School District is moving ahead with construction plans at their administration building.
The school board voted to award $1.8 million in bids to several different companies, including Swede Construction Corporation for general construction.
The goal of the project is to make more efficient use of the space by renovating classrooms currently used as offices at the primary center, which connects to the administration building.
The project will also include the construction of a technology wing at the back of the building, which will consolidate the technology department which is currently spread out in different areas.
