April is Autism Awareness Month and a local school district is hosting a special event open to the public later this week.
Mars Area School District will host an Autism Open Mic Night on Wednesday beginning at 7 p.m. at the Marsh Area High School.
This free gathering will focus on the joy of expression, regardless of musical experience or skill level. The district will make amps, microphones, guitars, keyboards, and percussion instruments available.
Pizza and soft drinks will also be provided but RSVPs are requested through the Band Together Pittsburgh website.
