Mars junior diver Taylor Hockenberry won her second consecutive WPIAL Diving Double-A championship over the weekend. Knoch’s Ben Lowery was third in boys diving. Both head to the PIAA meets, where Hockenberry is defending state champion.
Several Butler County wrestlers won WPIAL Section championships Saturday. Caleb Baxter, Christian Sequette and Saavon Mosby of Butler won Section 3 titles, along with Louis Newell of Seneca Valley. Baxter pinned David Kelly of Pine-Richland to win the 152 pound section title. Sequette won a 2-0 decision in the 170 pound weight class. Mosby picked up a 14-6 major decision in the 220lb class over Brendan Schellar of Pine-Richland, and Newell won a 14-0 major decision over Shane Kelley of Central Catholic at 110
