The Mars High School community is rallying around one of their own.
School security guard Linda Maloney’s home was recently destroyed in a fire. She also lost two beloved pets.
To help, Mars High School senior Emily Weis started a fundraising campaign. People can donate either online or in-person at the high school’s main office through today. About $8,000 has already been raised.
“Linda always makes an effort to talk to students and staff and most importantly keep us safe. I’m so happy that I’m able to help Linda start to get back on her feet, even though it won’t replace the pets and sentimental items that she lost,” Weis said. “I knew the students, staff, and people of the Mars community would be more than willing to help.”
If you would like to donate, you can visit Maloney’s GoFundMe fundraising page here.
Anyone who would like to donate cash and/or gift cards to the cause may do so at Mars Area High School’s main office through Friday, April 6. For more information, contact Linda Maney, secretary, at (724) 625-1581.
