The Mars Area School Board is considering a bond issue to finance multiple projects.
The board heard a presentation from representatives of an investment banking firm as well as a law firm specializing in bond council at their meeting Tuesday night. The board then approved motions to direct those firms to begin working on a bond to be issued later this year.
The exact amount to be borrowed has not yet been determined but the board was presented with proposals between $5 and $9 million.
In addition to the administration building project already planned, the district is also considering renovations to the middle school, extensive work on athletic fields, and replacing the air conditioning unit in the high school gym.
