A Butler County dairy will be receiving money to participate in a federal food program.
Marburger Farm Dairy in Evans City will receive nearly $79,000 through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farmers to Families Food Box Program.
This money will be used for the purchase of surplus milk and other dairy products for use by food banks and other non-profit organizations across the state to provide food boxes to families struggling with food.
Of the $1.2 billion in federal funding designated for this program, about $50 million will be directed to food distributors in Pennsylvania. Additional food security resources are available through the PA Department of Agriculture.
