Several hundred Butler County residents are still in the dark Friday morning following a strong storm last night.
According to Central Electric Cooperative, about 1,400 customers are without service. The majority of those outages are in Concord, Oakland and Parker townships. The outages do extend into Armstrong and Clarion counties. No word from the company on when those outages are expected to be restored.
A fast-moving, strong storm about 10 p.m. brought down trees and power lines. The National Weather Service did issue a Tornado Warning for southern Butler County. It appears most of the damage is being reported in the Evans City area.
Crews were out on Reibold Road in Forward Township last night dealing with damage, including downed trees and power lines. Route 68 at the bottom of Lick Hill was shut down as crews tended to downed wires.
The National Weather Service will likely be out investigating today to determine whether a tornado did touch down.
