Many residents have decided to switch political parties as we head towards Pennsylvania’s Presidential Primary Election.
At least 128,000 voters statewide have changed their registration since January 1 to join the GOP. Nearly 85,000 of them had been Democrats; 42,000 were independent or third-party voters.
Political analyst Terry Madonna from F&M College in Lancaster says any uptick in voter turnout isn’t likely to be fueled from the Democrats’ side.
But, Madonna believes there will be a major push by both parties encouraging people to vote in the fall.
Pennsylvania’s primary is Tuesday, April 26.
