The suspect wanted in two attempted carjackings in the city of Butler was taken into custody by police on Friday.
According to our news partners at WPXI, the suspect was identified as Brian Vlassich. Authorities say that Vlassich’s attempted carjackings occurred in a span of 15 minutes.
During the first attempt, Vlassich tried to steal the car of a mother who was waiting for her student to be dropped off by a school bus. After the failed attempt, Vlassich tried boarding the bus full of students, but was thrown off the bus by the mother.
Soon after this incident, Vlassich stole a black Ford Explorer that was parked three blocks away at a doctor’s office. That vehicle was later found in a retention pond.
Authorities say that after his arrest, Vlassich admitted to the crimes. It is unknown what charges will be filed.
