A Pittsburgh man has been sentenced after pleading guilty in July to multiple armed bank robbery charges including one which occurred in Butler County.
Gregory Magee, 50, will serve seven years and three months for robbing six banks in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence and Washington counties between January and November of 2016, including the First Niagara Bank on Route 19 in Cranberry Township.
In that robbery, Magee entered the bank wearing a hooded sweatshirt, cap, sunglasses, gloves, and a scarf covering his face. He waved a black handgun around and demanded money from several tellers. He left with nearly $6,000.
Magee’s prison term will be followed by five years of supervised release. The Cranberry Township Police Department assisted with this investigation.
