One man lost a leg and was flown to the hospital after a motorcycle crash yesterday afternoon.
The accident happened around 3 p.m. on Route 422 westbound near Moraine State Park.
State police say 43-year-old Jason Porter of Portersville was driving a motorcycle when he went off the road and hit a guardrail.
Police say during the course of the crash, Porter’s leg was amputated. Crews on scene say he suffered massive blood loss.
A medical helicopter was called to the scene and took Porter to a Pittsburgh trauma center.
A portion of Route 422 was shut down for a time.
Police are investigating to see if alcohol played a factor in the crash.
