Authorities have identified the Slippery Rock man who was killed by a tree that fell on his family’s mobile home yesterday.
Officials say that the man, 31-year-old Timothy Robert Klaes of West Park Road, was trying to comfort his 5-year-old son who was frightened by the bad weather when the tree fell and pinned him to the floor.
First responders say that Klaes was in a hallway of the home when the tree fell, and he later died of head injuries. Officials say that either a strong wind or lightning knocked the tree down.
