The Cranberry Township Police Department is continuing to investigate an accident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian last weekend.
According to a press release from a department spokesman, the incident occurred Sunday just before 7 p.m. at the intersection of Route 19 and St. Francis Way.
Thomas Jarzab, of Oil City, and his wife were attempting to cross the road when he was struck by a northbound vehicle. Jarzab was wearing dark clothing and attempting to cross in an area where pedestrians are prohibited from crossing. Jarzab was transported to UPMC Cranberry before being flown to Pittsburgh where he passed away.
