One man died and two others were hospitalized after a man was running a wood splitter in his garage.
It happened Friday afternoon at a home on Shaffer Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.
State police say 85-year-old Donald Robinson Sr. was running a gasoline-powered wood splitter in the garage with the doors closed. His wife Wilma Jean Robinson found him unresponsive on the floor and immediately called her son Donald Robinson Jr.
Robinson Jr. called 9-1-1 and went to the home. However, when crews arrived Robinson Sr. had died, and his wife and son were also found in the garage unconscious.
They were taken to a local hospital and are now in stable condition.
Police say the death was accidental.
