A local man has been arrested as a result of a series of thefts from motor vehicles in the City of Butler.
A recent press release from the Butler City Police Department stated numerous cars were ransacked and items taken in the city over the past several days.
24-year old Elijah Claypoole of East North Street in Butler was identified using video from one of the victims and he was located on Thursday wearing the same clothing.
A search of Claypoole’s residence revealed many items that were reported stolen. Many other items were found that may have been stolen but have not yet been reported. Any motorist in the city with an item stolen is asked to call 911 in order to report the theft.
Claypoole is facing numerous charges including theft, loitering and prowling, receiving stolen property, and criminal mischief.
